Come join me as I shop in one of my favorite places in San Francisco – the Ferry Building! It’s where you can get the view of the bay, eat great food and browse awesome stores to stock up the pantry and prop collection all in one place. I can easily spend the whole day there and I have! My husband and I met there at the Saturday Farmers Market. It was the first part of our 24 hour first date.
You will also see my many facial expressions in this pictorial. I can’t hide my emotions, it shows on my face. When I was working for Visa, my boss would always tell me to fix my face. It always showed how annoyed I was in every meeting. Anyway I digress, first stop – chocolate.
They are located outside the Ferry Building where you can get little treats like cookies, a brownie flight, hot chocolate and different smoothies. They are one of my favorite places to get locally made high end chocolates in the Bay Area. All of their chocolates are hand made and packaged in the Mission.
This is the place to go get your ONE good plate to take food photos on. The esthetic is minimal so that the pieces can be handed down to generations to come.
They have a variety of infused olive oils, olive based spreads, and wood work all from the olive trees sourced from the McEvoy Ranch in Petaluma.
This is another adorable place to get more food props and cookbooks to add to the collection. If I wasn’t taking BART back to Walnut Creek I would of gotten this nesting bowl set.
This is another one of my go to places for chocolate. It stocks a variety of bars from around the world that I can’t find anywhere else in the Bay Area. They also have a huge selection of European ingredients to add to your pantry.
Every Tuesday and Thursday there is a small farmers market just outside the front of the building where you can buy the some of the freshest produce available along side some food vendors. You might even see a celebrity chef or two shopping for their restaurant. I once saw Chris Constantino hauling boxes from the market into his truck. I had to stop myself from fan-girling big time.
A bigger market happens every Saturday rain or shine with vendors surrounding the whole building with food and fresh produce.
Thanks for shopping with me and now I must Instagram everything I saw! Just kidding I was checking the BART schedule.
