    Ube Oreo Truffle Balls

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

These Ube Oreo Truffle Balls are oh so easy to make. All you need are super fine crushed Oreo cookie crumbs mixed with Ube Polvoron, oh and some Ube Ice Cream to combine it all together.

Honestly these should not exist. They are that good. For some reason Ube and Oreo go really good together. I can't explain the science behind it. Every time I have had Ube and Oreo combined it just works. You can taste both flavors at the same time.

The inspiration for these balls are from Cafe 86. They have really big ass Ube Truffles that are coated in Oreo crumbs. I remember the first time I bit into one - freaking life changing. This version is smaller and more compact and the Oreos are mixed into the truffles.

    Ingredients

This is what you will need to make the Ube Oreo Truffle Balls.

Oreo Truffle Mix - Getting this box is optional. You can make your own by putting just the Oreo cookie (without the filling) into a food processor.

Ube Polvoron - My favorite brand to use for this recipe is Goldilocks, as they make them big. Use 3 and make sure they are super smashed down.

Melted Butter - This helps harden the balls and keep them together.

Ube Ice Cream - I added this for additional Ube flavor and it works! Just make sure it's fully melted.

Box of Oreo truffle mix, melted butter, 3 packets of Ube polvoron, bowl of melted Ube Ice Cream.

For the coating you will need some powdered sugar and ube powdered mixed together.

Bowl of powdered sugar with a scoop of Ube powder along with a package of Ube Powder on the side.

Combine the Oreo crumbs, crushed ube polvoron, butter and ube ice cream into a bowl.

Ube Oreo Truffle Balls all mixed in a bowl.

Use clean hands to mash everything together. You know it's mixed well when you pinch off some of the truffle between your fingers and stays together and does not fall apart.

Use a spoon to scoop out a small portion and roll into small balls.

Powdered sugar and Ube Powder mixed in a bowl with a spoon.

Once you are done rolling combine the powdered sugar and ube powder and mix well.

Roll each ball into the mixture.

    Finished balls on a plate.

Repeat for the rest of the balls.

How To Store Ube Oreo Truffle Balls

Any leftover Ube Oreo Truffle Balls can be stored in an air tight container in the refrigerator.

Keep up to 1 week. If you want to keep them longer transfer to the freezer to keep for up to 3 months.

    • 3 Tablespoons Melted Butter

    • 1 Tablespoon Ube Powder

    Instructions

    • Combine the Oreo crumbs, crushed ube polvoron, butter and ube ice cream into a bowl. Use clean hands to mash everything together. You know it's mixed well when you pinch off some of the truffle between your fingers and stays together and does not fall apart.

    • Then combine the powdered sugar and ube powder in a small bowl and mix well. Roll each ball into the mixture.

    Notes

If the mixture seems a tad dry or falls apart too quick when you roll them into balls, add a teaspoon of melted Ube ice cream to help bind it more.
