    Calamansi Wine Spritzer

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This Calamansi Wine Spritzer is the perfect cocktail on a super hot day. Supper bubbly with lots of calamansi flavor.

Calamansi Wine Spritzer in a glass.

Remember those wine spritzers from the 80's? My mom always had a 6 pack in the fridge. They didn't seem to have any alcohol in them as I never got tipsy when drinking a stolen bottle.

This Calamansi Wine Spritzer reminds me of that. Just a more modern version. It's not as sweet, but still refreshing.

Also my mom never said anything about the disappearing bottles! But still....shhhh.

    What is Calamansi?

Calamansi or Kalamansi is a native tiny citrus fruit from the Philippines. It has more juice than a lime and more pucker than a lemon. Calamansi can be used in juices, marinades, dipping sauces (sawsawan), making sweet bakes or even flavorful noodles. A truly versatile fruit!

    Ingredients

This is what you will need to make Calamansi Wine Spritzer.

Fresh Calamansi - In drinks like this fresh is best. I you can get fresh ones you will need 2-3 depending on the size. If you have smaller ones use 3 calamansi, for medium use 2.

Fresh Bay Leaves - I am so spoiled as I have 2 bay leaf trees in my backyard. You will need 3 leaves for this cocktail.

Calamansi Liquor - I got this from the Philippines when I was there last. But you can order it from some Liquor stores around the world. Google MANILLE LIQUEUR DE CALAMANSI. Or go to the Philippines!

Prosecco - Use any kind of sparkling wine. Pick your favorite!

    Lots of Ice!

Calamansi Sparkling Water - I use and drink the Sanzo brand exclusively.

Bottle of prosecco, can of calamansi sparkling water, bottle of calamansi liquor, fresh bay leaves, fresh calamansi and bowl of ice.
