A Choc Nut Spread that you can make at home with just 3 ingredients. Just a few bars of choc nut candy, water and coconut oil. How easy is that?

Choc Nut Spread in a jar.

In my opinion Choc Nut is the better peanut / chocolate candy. Yes! Much better that Reeses Pieces. So I am here to give you the most Choc Nut recipes. It is still sweet, but you taste the peanuts so much more.

A few years ago one of my friends sent me a jar of Choc Nut spread. I was hooked! However it is slightly hard to get as it is so so good. The jars sell out fast. You all know what that means. I had to try to see if we can all make it at home with minimal ingredients. Read on to see how it is done.

    Choc Nut Spread Ingredients

24 bars of Choc Nut. Water. Coconut Oil. That. Is. It.

Of course you need the Choc Nuts bars. A whole packet will do, it contains the perfect 24 pieces that you will need to make the spread.

Water will help breakdown the candy pieces and make a nice smooth paste.

Refined Coconut Oil is key as it is essentially flavorless, but will turn the paste into a very stable spread. This article spells out the difference between refined and virgin coconut oil.

    How To Make It

To make the Choc Nut Spread you first unwrap all 24 pieces of candy (very therapeutic!) and put it all in a food processor. Pulse it a few times to break it down a little. There will be some clumps, but that is expected as these are essentially molded candies.

    It should look like this.

Then add in the water and pulse to make a smooth paste. Only after it has become a smooth paste add in coconut oil. As you can see, it is not fully melted. I put it in the microwave for about 15 seconds to melt some of it, but not all. That is what you are looking for so you have some solid bits to blend through the Choc Nut Spread.

Paste with coconut oil in a blender.

That is really it. Then you transfer it to a clean 6oz jar and do whatever you want with it. like make these Choc Nut Brownies with them. Or eat them with bananas and spread them on bread. The list is endless.

How to Store Choc Nut Spread

As they do have coconut oil, it's easier to spread if you leave them in your cupboard for up to 5 days. If you want to keep it longer than that, you can move the jar of Choc Nut Spread to the fridge and store it there for up to 2 weeks. To make it more spreadable, take it out of the fridge and get it to room temperature. About 20 minutes.
