    Ube Affogato

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This Ube Affogato is a super easy dessert to serve after dinner. All you need is a scoop of Ube ice cream and pour espresso on top. That is it!

    Ube Affogato

We love easy over here and this is probably one of the easiest desserts to make especially if you have been in the kitchen all day cooking.

Affogato is an Italian dessert that consists of a scoop of ice cream and a shot of fresh espresso poured over it. Affogato means to drown so that is what we are going to do with the Ube ice cream.

There is also a variation to make it adults only by adding a splash of hard liquor. If you go that route I recommend using Kasama Rum from the Philippines.

    Ingredients

This is what you will need to make Ube Affogato.

Ube Ice Cream - Make your own using my Ube Ice Cream recipe or buy the best brand. Magnolia of course! You can pre scoop the ice cream into glasses and have them in the freezer ready to go.

Espresso - We have a Nespresso machine, so making this is even easier. If you are super fancy and have your own proper machine that can pull a fresh one - that is even better.

Espresso in a mini jug and a scoop of ice cream in a glass.

    How To Make Ube Affogato

As I said it's super easy to make an Ube Affogato.

Pouring espresso over ube ice cream

Take out your glasses with a scoop of Ube ice cream in them and pour over freshly brewed and hot espresso.

Scooping the ube ice cream with a spoon.

You can slowly eat the ice cream with a spoon or mix it fully in with the espresso and sip on it.

The choice is yours. Let me know what your preference is and if you added some booze!
