    Melon Shake

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This Melon Shake is made with just 4 simple ingredients. All you need are fresh melon, water, crushed ice and honey!

    Melon Shake

This Melon Shake is actually quite similar to the drink Melon Sa Malamig. The only difference is that it's all blended up.

Tips on a Getting the Most Flavor

The key to getting all the melon flavor is to soak the seeds and the connecting melon pulp that you scoop out from the middle of the melon.

Don't throw away the most flavorful part of the melon. Leave it to soak in one cup of water for at least an hour.

Then drain it through a strainer. Using a spoon or clean hands squeeze out any excess juice from the seeds and attached melon.

You will be left with the more flavorful water to use for the Melon Shake.

    Ingredients for the Melon Shake

Melon - You will need 2 cups of chilled cut up pieces of melon. You can also freeze the melon pieces and omit the ice.

Melon Water - Refer to the method above on how to extract melon water. It will make 2 cups.

Crushed Ice - If using ice use 2 cups that have been crushed already so it's easier to blend.

Honey - I chose to use honey, but you can use any sweetener or even none if the melon you are using is super sweet for the Melon Shake.

    Blending the Melon Shake

Throw in all the ingredients in the blender - melon, melon water, crushed ice and honey.

How to Serve the Melon Shake

You will notice it has doubled in volume. This Melon Shake will now serve up to 4 people depending on the glass size that you use.

After a few minutes there will be a separation of the juice and the pulp. Just use a straw or spoon to mix it all up again.
