This Ube Hot Chocolate is made with homemade Ube Milk and white chocolate from the Philippines. It's then topped with coconut whip and a sprinkle of Ube Polvoron.
Gosh, if you are looking for a sip-able dessert then this Ube Hot Chocolate is it. This recipe is for 1 cup, however I suggest serving it in tiny espresso cups and dividing it up into 3 servings. Great during cold nights around the fire. Oh and if you are so inclined, adding a shot of coconut rum would go great with it too.
Ingredients
Homemade Ube Milk - I am telling you this Ube Milk is a recipe that you will make over and over.
White Chocolate - In this recipe we use one whole bar of Auro white chocolate from the Philippines. Feel free to use any white chocolate bar, but you are making a Filipino drink so use Filipino ingredients to support the country and farmers where Ube comes from.
Coconut Whip - Get the ready made whip. I keep a container of coco whip in my freezer incase of emergency.
Crushed Ube Polvoron - This no bake Filipino Shortbread Cookie gives it a nice crunch texture. We sprinkle it on top of the coconut whip.
How To Make Ube Hot Chocolate
Break up the bar of 60g white chocolate in a small sauce pan then pour in 1 cup of Ube Milk. Turn on the heat to low and melt the chocolate while whisking to ensure there are no lumps.
Stir for about 5 minutes until the Ube Hot Chocolate is nice and smooth.
How To Serve Ube Hot Chocolate
As I mentioned earlier this drink is decadent with a capital D! To serve pour the finished Hot Chocolate into three separate espresso cups.
Then top each drink with a tablespoon of coconut whip and a sprinkle of Ube Polvoron.
