Ube Latte - A Super Easy Version

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This Ube Latte is super easy because we are going to use a short cut for that super ube flavor. Melted ube ice cream with a shot of espresso. So sarap!

Ube Latte in tall glass shot outside.

Do not under estimate the versatility of Ube Ice Cream. You can turn it into cakes, tiramisu, or even French toast!

No need to concoct an Ube flavored foam or mix condensed milk with Ube flavoring. Melted Ube Ice cream is going to do all the work for you and I have to say, its really good with coffee.

    Ingredients

Here is what you will need to make the most delish Ube Latte.

Shot of Espresso - I mean if you are here making a latte I am going to assume you have some sort of espresso machine. You will need one shot or two if you want it stronger.

Coconut Milk - The best kind of milk to use with Ube is always always coconut milk. However if you are in a bind feel free to use any other kind of milk you like.

Ice - You will need ice for 2 purposes. One for shaking the latte and two for using in your serving glass to keep the drink cold. About half a cup for the shaking and another half cup for serving. Or more if you want to use lots of ice.

Maple Syrup - Just a teaspoon to make the latte a touch sweet.

Melted Ube Ice Cream - Ah, the crown jewel! You will need 1 cup of melted Ube Ice cream.

Melted Ube Ice cream, coconut and ice in a cocktail shaker, shot of espresso, bottle of maple syrup.

How To Make An Ube Latte

Before we get started you do need some special equipment. Some type of espresso machine is ideal to make your shot of espresso. If you don't have a machine you can always use a shot of ready made cold brew.

Second special equipment needed is a cocktail shaker. One that is about 16 oz is great. I have an 8oz one and I find it too small. An alternative to a cocktail shaker is a water bottle that you can shake up.

Third is your serving glass. A 16oz glass is best, but you can also divide the drink into two 8oz glass.

Coconut milk, ice, espresso in a cocktail shaker.

First pour in ⅔ of coconut milk into a cocktail shaker along with ½ cup of ice. Add in the shot of espresso.

    Adding in maple syrup.

Next add in 1 teaspoon of maple syrup.

shaking everything in a cocktail shaker.

Shake for a few seconds until everything is super cold and blended.

Pouring in the latte in serving glass.

Have your serving glass ready filled with ice. Pour in the latte.

    Finished latte.

Leave about a 1 inch gap so that is room for the melted Ube Ice cream.

Adding melted Ube Ice cream to iced latte.

Finally pour in the melted Ube Ice cream for that real deal ube flavor.

Iced Ube Latte with a straw.

I mean how pretty is she???

Top down shot of ube latte.

Give it a little stir and enjoy your super easy Iced Ube Latte right away.
