Out with Hype
Over the weekend I had the pleasure of going on a wine and art tour with Hype and other influencers. We had the opportunity to learn so much about wine and art and history of the Napa Valley.
Hall Wines
Our first stop was with Hall Wines. The story about this vineyard is quite amazing and involves the love story of Kathryn and Craig Hall with stops in Texas and Austria along the way to creating this vineyard. They have lived very full big lives and it shows in their winery.
It has a mix of old Napa with modern buildings around the property and we were lucky enough to get a peek in all areas of the property. We even had a private wine tasting session in the founders cellar and had a taste of some wine that was still getting matured in the barrel.
The wines we tasted were all smooth and complex at the same time. I can see why they were able to get a perfect score on their Cabernet Sauvignon.
Caldwell Snyder Gallery
Our second stop Caldwell Snyder Gallery, a lovely gallery in St. Helena that houses modern contemporary art. Their current installation has a mid-century modern vibe which I love. They hand pick all the artists and the art that they show.
It's a nice laid out gallery that is not overwhelming and very welcoming. They also have a gallery in San Francisco if you didn't want to make the trek out to Napa, but this one is worth visiting.
Kieu Hoang Winery
Our third stop was Kieu Hoang Winery where we had our lunch. It's a lovely winery that has more of a rustic modern vibe (think Joanna Gaines). The owner is a scientist by trade and through the study of health and wellness found that drinking red in particular was beneficial to our bodies. He bought the winery from the Mondavi Family and pursued wine making at it's finest.
His labels call out to his original love of cells and are screen printed on all their bottles.
Volakis Gallery and Aum Cellars
Our last stop was Volakis Gallery and Aum Cellars. This gallery is quite amazing as they still produce large form digital print by hand on custom equipment that they made or had commissioned. We only had limited time here to make it back into San Francisco before night fall, however the time we spent there was eye opening to the art world.
The gallery is open by appointment only and targets serious collectors of fine art photography and abstract sculptures.
This art piece was a photograph of models under water and the bubbles were arranged from above to create a kaleidoscope effect. It was created before the time of Photoshop, so this was all in the mind of the photographer.
Aum Cellars provide big bold wines that are amazing with meaty meats that pack lots of flavor. Through them I found out that wine increases levels of gut probiotics and they take it up a notch by adding additional probiotics to their wines.
It was a wonderful once in a life time experience and I hope to do it again soon. I learned so much about how woven the history is within all the wineries and how art now compliments the wine country. Till next time Napa...

Hi Rezel,
Your photos are seriously stunning. I love how all the colors mesh together. What program do you use, if I may ask?
And this wine tasting looks like so much fun! Love all the flairs you portrayed from each winery.

Hi Krista! I use Lightroom and created my own filter. I take down vibrancy and saturation just a little.
