    Morning Wander Around Williamsburg Brooklyn

One of the important things about being a stay at home mom is taking time for yourself and doing things that fires your soul.  Going to the workshop I shared with you guys was a way to take care of myself and to take a break of my regular day to day routine.

On my last day in Brooklyn I had the morning free and took advantage of being on my own and doing anything I wanted.  It was my last chance before heading home!  I had this image of me on the Brooklyn Bridge taking the most amazing and artistic black and white photos, but I spent an hour looking for the bloody path to walk on the bridge.  I was walking in circles watching the time I had left tick away.

Finally I found the path and when I got on the bridge I took out my DSLR and the battery was dead.  I didn't have a chance to walk all the way across and just felt dejected and went back to my hotel to get a new battery and to check out and store my bags.  I was on a mission to leave Brooklyn on a high note so I took out my Williamsburg bucket list and was a woman on a mission.

Next on my list to visit was Mast Brothers and I had no problems finding chocolate.  Duh...

    Mast Brothers

Okay when I walked in at Mast Brothers I felt right at home.  It had a minimalist rustic vibe that reminded me so much of Japan.  The funny thing was at 10am in the morning it was just me and about 10 Japanese tourists in the shop.

On occasion they have more than chocolate bars available.  On the day that I went they had the most massive chocolate chip cookies the size of your head.  They were amazing.

Next stop was ice cream.  Van Leewen has the best vegan matcha ice cream hands down.  I didn't have breakfast yet, but I had to have some ice cream.  It was so creamy and the matcha flavor comes through so well too.

    Bulletin

I have been walking past Bulletin for a couple of days but didn't have a chance to walk in.  Something was telling me I had to walk in and I am glad I did.  It's a meca of women empowerment messaging.  I got lost in the store going round and round making sure I didn't miss anything. They do have an online store, if you can't make it there in person.

    Reynard at the Wythe Hotel

My last stop was Reynard.  It was just 3 blocks away from my hotel to get my bags and I could not, not go back for a second time.  They have the most amazing and moist gluten free muffins and the other food is to die for.  At this point of my walk all I've had was ice cream and chocolate milk and was desperate for a meal.  When the food came I immediately scoffed it down and didn't take any photos.  I do have this cocktail to look at fondly when I remember Reynard.

It's safe to say I left Brooklyn on a high note and I can't wait to go back.  I told my husband if we had to move to New York Williamsburg is where I would start looking to live first.

When I was a kid, I used to spend every weekend at my cousins place in Brooklyn. I grew up in NJ and Brooklyn was pretty close. I love it there. I will have to bookmark! Thanks for sharing!

I've never been in this neck of the woods. I have to say Mast Brothers looks so type A sterile black and white... would need to seriously resist the urge to put something askew! That cookie looks pretty darn good though! 😉

I've never had any desire to visit the New York area, but I do believe that the chocolate shop you shared may just make me pause for a moment. Oh my!
