This Halo Halo Sundae combines the best of Filipino and American desserts. Bananas, Ice Cream, Nata de Coco and lots of shaved ice topped with a cherry of course!

This Halo Halo Sundae in a glass cup.

I was brainstorming for new Filipino recipes out loud and my daughter happened to be sitting there. So she thew out Halo Halo Sundae and I though you know what that IS a very good idea.

The darling daughter came up with a good one to add to my Halo Halo recipe collection.

    Ingredients

Nata de Coco - This is always a yes in my halo halo. You can replace with kaong if you want or even beans.

Banana - You will need one banana sliced.

Vanilla Ice Cream - It's a Halo Halo Sundae so you can use any ice cream you want. I prefer to keep it classic and stick with vanilla.

Shaved Ice - Prepare two cups of shaved ice. I recommend using this shaved ice machine.

Banana Milk - I happen to have the famous Korean Banana Milk in my fridge, but you can use any brand of banana milk or other flavored milk if you wish. Strawberry or chocolate would work well too.

Chocolate Ice Cream - Again I am keeping it classic by using Chocolate ice cream, but use what you have or what you like.

Whipped Cream - It's easier to use the ones from the can. No need to whip!

Cherry - Top it all off with a maraschino cherry for color.

Pint of chocolate ice cream, bowl of shaved ice, can of whipped cream, container of data de coco, pint of vanilla ice cream, jar of cherries, carton of banana milk and one banana.

How To Make Halo Halo Sundae

Here is how to layer your Halo Halo Sundae.

Banana sliced on a cutting board.

First peel your banana and slice thin on an angle.

Nata de coco in a bowl

Now we can start layering. Spoon in about 2-3 tablespoons of Nata de coco in the middle of your bow.. This will also help the bananas slip from the sides in the next layer.

Adding sliced bananas to the side of the bowl.

Place the bananas on the sides of the bowl.

Adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Then add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of the Nata de coco.

Top with shaved ice to make Halo Halo Sundae.

This is the part when it becomes a Halo Halo Sundae! Pat in the shaved ice over the ice cream while also covering the bananas. Basically fill the bowl and lightly pack in the ice creating a small dome.

Drizzle banana milk over the ice.

Drizzle the shaved ice with banana milk.

Adding a scoop of chocolate ice cream.

Top with a scoop of chocolate ice cream.

    Add whipped cream.

Squirt some whipped cream around the base of the chocolate ice cream and on the top.

Top the Halo halo Sundae with a red cherry.

Finally finish your Halo Halo Sundae with a cherry on top for a pop of color.

Spoon inside the Halo Halo Sundae.

Eat it right away before it melts!
