This Filipino Mango Shake is made with super sweet fresh fruit and blended with lots of ice. The perfect drink to cool you down on hot humid days.

    Filipino Mango Shake

If you have ever visited the Philippines and have gone to a restaurant or cafe you will see shakes all over the drink menus.

However, it's not the kind of shake you think. There is no milk involved. It's simply fresh sweet ripe fruit mixed with lots of ice, a bit of water and sweetener. The more ice the better to give you that ice cream head ache on that first sip.

The most famous shake in the Philippines is the Mango Shake. Super duper ripe mangoes are used to make the most delectable Filipino Mango Shakes. I always order it when I am there.

    Ingredients for Filipino Mango Shake

Ripe Mangoes - I used 3 super ripe and juicy mangoes. Don't use frozen mangoes from a bag for this. Those tend to be more bland. Scoop out the flesh and rough chop them for blending.

Ice - 2 cups of crushed ice makes this shake more slushy like. You can add more or less depending on how cold you want your Filipino Mango Shake.

Water - You do need water to help blend it all up. A cup of cold water is all you need.

Honey - I like to use honey to use as a sweetener. You don't need much. It all depends on how sweet your mangoes are. Start with 1 tablespoon and add more if needed.

bowl of mangoes, bowl of ice, cup of water and bottle of honey.

How to Make a Filipino Mango Shake

This makes a large 16oz serving for 1. You can divide it into two smaller portions if you wish.

All you need to do is throw everything in the blender. fresh mangoes, crushed ice, cold water and honey.

Fresh mangoes, water, ice and honey in a blender.

Then blend the Filipino Mango Shake for one minute until it's all super smooth.

    That is it!

    How to Serve

To serve your Filipino Mango Shake just pour it into a chilled 16oz glass or two chilled 8oz glasses and drink away.

When you do have any left overs you can put it in the refrigerator to stay chilled. Alternatively, you can pour it into an ice cube tray to use as ice for cocktails.
