Matcha Yuzu Shisho Summer Spritzer
Great news everyone Aiya Matcha and I are continuing our partnership until the end of the year. Yay!! So I have many more matcha recipes that I will be sharing. I mean who am I kidding... I will always have matcha recipes to share. To celebrate our continuing relationship I created this Matcha Yuzu Shisho Summer Spritzer. Now say that ten times fast!
How to Make the Spritzer
If you live near a Japanese grocery store you will easily find the ingredients needed for this spritzer. Apart from matcha you will need some shisho leaves and yuzu juice. It's pretty rare to find fresh yuzu, but if you can use that instead. Otherwise grab a bottle of pure yuzu juice and you can also use it for other drinks. I hear it's great with champagne if you are into bitter drinks.
While you are at the grocery store grab some ready made appetizers to go with this drink. It pairs lovely with any and all Japanese food.
Now all you need to do is make some matcha and then muddle the shisho leaves until you start smelling the shisho blend into the matcha.
Then you pour some of the yuzu juice over the muddled matcha and shisho. Add lots of ice and then top with your favorite sparkling water.
That's it. You can garnish with more shisho and some edible flowers and the drink is ready to serve.
